During Art Brut’s show in Toronto in late 2005, frontman Eddie Argos demanded that each and every member of the audience form a band by the time they returned. Taking this message to heart, Christina, Scott and Andrew scraped together some instruments and had their first practice the next weekend.
After a year of riding the learning curve, the band coaxed John to join the fold, which immediately solidified the rhythm section. After a long search for a singer, Linda and Konstantine appeared at the same time. Both joined up, and the final lineup was set.
The Toronto based band — whose members originally hail from Guelph, Montreal, Vancouver and PEI — has a sound inspired by ‘70s punk rock and ‘80s new wave, and is guided by a love of fun, well-crafted and danceable pop songs. With their recently recorded EP, "All On C", The Craft Economy aims to bring their fun and intensity to the Toronto independent music scene.
